Corringham is situated approximately 3 miles from the DP World Port. Corringham has a local town centre with the nearest railway station at Stanford Le Hope Station 2 miles to the east.

Cogent Land promoted the site through the Local Plan, along with submitting a planning application in respect of the site. An outline planning application for 750 homes, a local centre, a two-form entry primary school, making provision of land available for a new railway station and associated works, was submitted in respect of the site and remains pending.

Cogent Land traded the site in 2022.
